Covid-19 Minimization Policies

Nothing is more important to the Eros crew and owners than the wellbeing of our team and our guests. The Eros team is focused on protecting the health of our charter guests through diligent social distancing policies and increased disinfection practices on the yacht. We are furthermore following and adhering to (and exceeding) all state and local regulations with respect to our operations.

The Crew

  • The Eros crew live on board Eros in the comfortable crew quarters forward of the galley (kitchen). They have their own bathrooms and showers.

  • They are spending all of their time onboard the yacht, night and day, and practicing social distancing when ashore buying supplies for the yacht. For the most part they are preparing and eating their own meals on board or accepting delivered food from reputable delivery services. They are not socializing with people outside of their immediate crew family.

  • Even before Covid-19 became prevalent, Captain Justin Bernhart and his crew spent all of their waking hours working on and cleaning Eros. She has always been a meticulously maintained vessel.

  • All crew are checking their temperatures every day and recording them in the ship’s logbook.

  • Enhanced health checks have been put in place for all crew members between charters is possible.

Enhanced Cleaning Protocols

Before the virus our crew wiped down interior surfaces daily with a vinegar and water mixture while the heads (bathrooms) and all common areas, including the galley, were cleaned daily with disinfectants and other appropriate cleaners. Now they have added specialty disinfectants to their arsenal, the same products that are being used by major US airlines to disinfect their planes’ interiors. This cleaning is done daily in guest cabins, and several times per day in high traffic areas.

Social Distancing While on Charter

Eros is a large yacht. Ample space can be left between crew and guests at all phases of operations (sailing, at anchor, at mealtime). Meals can be served by masked and gloved crew or self-served family style meals from the large dining saloon below (guests plate their own meals and carry them to the on-deck dining area). Or, the stewardess team can serve the table while guests enjoy a pre-dinner cocktail on the main deck. The Eros team is prepared to discuss precise interaction procedures with our guests prior to the vacation.

Masks and Gloves

Eros is provisioned with ample supplies of KN95 masks and latex gloves. The crew will wear them whenever around guests. Guests are welcome to wear them as well.

Charter Destinations

Our guests are welcome to venture ashore on the beautiful New England towns and beaches along the voyage provided social distancing routines are followed. Guests are encouraged to eat all meals on board courtesy of our professional chef and stewardesses.
